Fire and Security Systems Engineer - Installations

We are recruiting an experienced Fire and Security Systems Engineer to join our Installations team. We are an NSI Gold and BAFE accredited company.  We have offices in King’s Lynn and Wroxham and the successful candidate would need to be located within reasonable proximity to either of these offices.

Duties include:

  • Installation and commissioning of commercial and domestic Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control systems in accordance with regulatory standards and client requirements

  • Perform system maintenance checks and repairs where applicable

  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades/improvements

  • Assist with the training and mentoring of junior engineers/apprentices.

Requirements of the role:

  • Prior experience in the industry is essential for this role and experience in Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control is required.

  • Experience in Kentec, Advanced, Texecom, Pyronix and HIK systems is beneficial.

Salary:

Up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Apprentice Fire and Security Engineer

Job Description:

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Access Control

  • Video Surveillance/CCTV

  • Intruder Alarms

  • Fire Alarms

Pay will be reviewed during regular performance reviews throughout the apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements:

  • A UK drivers license is required due to the travel requirements of the role

  • Ideally live within close proximity to our Kings Lynn office

  • Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS background check

  • Must be comfortable working at height due to the nature of the role

  • Maths and English at grade 4 GCSE (or equivalent) or above

  • Comfortable with overnight stays for college block-release weeks (1 week in every 8 weeks, more detail further down this page)

  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills

  • Electrical, engineering or power tool experience would be a bonus

Training to be Provided:

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at their Watford centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.

  • Train hands-on with real systems

  • Learn from industry experts

  • Complete a wide range of tasks and projects

  • Build evidence from your job to support your learning

  • Sit annual assessments at the centre
